Jane Bird

" today i read about how Paul finally got to the point in his relationship with Jesus where he realized that he had tried working his head off to please God and keep the rules, and it didn't work. That it was not about rule keeping and trying to make a good name for yourself by having a good reputation or living a good "christian" life style.
he no longer deemed it important to appear righteous before man. His ego was no longer central. and he was also no longer driven to impress God. Because who would he be fooling?
It was Christ that lived in him. and the life you saw was not "his" but it was lived by faith in the son of God.

"Is it not clear to you that to go back to that old rule-keeping, peer pleasing religion would be an abandonment of everything personal and free in my relationship with God? I refuse to do that, to repudiate God's grace. If a living relationship with God could come by rule-keeping, then Christ died unnecessarily."
Galatians 2:19-21 "
