Day 9; How important you think education is

Freaking damn important. It's one of the top priorities for this world along with world peace and ending world hunger. It would and will solve so many problems in this world if people knew what they're doing, what's going on, how to do things properly or with a good mind. This world needs more of it. It's pretty much one of the big keys of the future.

Monday, 23 May 2011

I need something. I don't know what. I need to find some kind of outlet. My drawing is crap as ever, writing isn't doing much for me. There's got to be something.

Day 8; What you ate today

  • Breakfast - Chinese BBQ Pork bun
  • Recess - Hotdog, extra sauce
  • Lunch - Mac n Cheese
  • Home - Some kind of weird asian pastry
  • Dinner - Sour pork, some kind of beef and rice

Day 7; Five Pet Peeves

  1. People who: think they know everything, try to upstage you, brag, shamelessly seek attention, overreact
  2. Unjustified reasons
  3. Inconsiderate people
  4. School buses
  5. People who lack self respect and respect for others/ people who demand respect but treat others like dirt

Indie Hipsters

So the latest/re-emerging/newly re-evaluated thing going on these days is the indie-hipster phase. If you don't know what this is, I'll stereo-type it for you:

  • Indie-hipster's majorly consists of adolescents from the ages of 13-18 (it can go beyond this age but overall...)

  • Indie-hipster's fashion consists of the mixture of at least 3 of the following things: plaid, floral, leather, lace, bows, Chuck Taylors/heels/ boots, beanies, jewellry that involve animals and/or ordinary objects (teacups, bows etc.), skinny jeans, long scarves, nerd glasses with preferably no lens, a DLSR and/or polaroid camera.

  • Indie-hipster's must have at least one of the following: blogger, tumblr, twitter, formspring etc.

  • Indie-hipster's then post on those websites DnM quotes about:
  • being single and loving it, being single and hating it, being depressed over break ups/unrequited love, the tiny details of being in a relationship, moving on with life/living life to the full/being young, philosophy/movie/tv/song lyric quotes, the universe and it's vastness, life in general

  • Indie-hipster's shall also post images and/or gifs of popular quotes in screencaps of the movie, television show, music it comes from. Images of "making love"/sex, cute animals such as kittens and rabbits, exotic animals such as elephants and tigers.
  • Pictures of random people in Indie-hipster's fashion either being: alone and depressed, in a lovey dovey Indie-hipster's couple pose, crowds partying/at concert/drinking/having a day out in the city
  • Pictures of galaxies/stars/night sky/fields of tall grass/abandoned roads/places people want to be/ places being hate being at and then this image has one of two types of writing on top: light writing or heveltica stating (ir)relevant quotes (refer to dot point 4 and 5)

  • Indie-hipster's Music shall condemn mainstream music except for indie, punk, screamo, dub-step, alternative, rock artists that have made it big in the mainstream world e.g. Florence + the Machine, Adele etc. But sometimes it doesn't work out too well if they go "too mainstream" e.g. Owl City
  • They shall listen to the smaller, unheard bands. Even local ones who only have music available on their MySpace or the unknown supporting band of a concert they went to. They will hear a mainstream song before it becomes "big"

  • The diet of a Indie-hipster's consists usually of burgers and fries, macaroons, artistic cupcakes, rainbow cakes, chocolate covered fruit, alcohol

  • They are usually seen in record/CD stores, tall grass fields, woods/forests, on the streets, clubs, bedrooms, cafes and boutiques
  • Other than internet socialising, taking photos and lunching at quaint hidden cafes where they play local band music; Indie-hipster's are known to paint/ draw, play the guitar and/or keyboard, correct the grammar of offensive comments on youtube and from their askbox and attend clubs and multiple concerts.

  • Pop culture that must be at least heard of in the Indie-hipster world: Skins and other teen T.V. Shows (I'll write another list), 500 Days of Summer, John Hughes' films, cult classics, anything that has won or participated the Sundance Film festival or any other independent film making festival

Day 6; Your views on mainstream music

I really don't mind it. Mainstream music is popular for a reason. The only reason why people hate it is because it's ruthlessly repeated on the radios and is referred to repeatedly. Granted, it is getting a bit generic in terms of lyrics and sounds but there are some brilliant songs in mainstream music. It really isn't that bad. I think it's the new indie/hipster phase where mainstream music is looked down up even though, ironically, it's those people who make the "unknown" bands and songs top the charts.

I admit that more that 80% of my music is probably non-mainstream but overall mainstream music is O.K.

Day 5; Things you want to say to your ex.

(Saving day four for a more interesting day)

Dear Mr.X,

I don't know what to say. Obviously things didn't go as planned and that's ok. I don't actually know where we stand at the moment. I sometimes wish I do and sometimes I just don't care. You're amazing, incredible, you made me feel loved and you have given me some of the best memories ever.

I do wonder about the what if's and the why's. I get mixed emotions. However I also know that we're both strong people and that things will all work out in the end.

I know we had something amazing and hope you and I find it again, whether it's in other people or in each other.

I suppose I'll just have to sit in the hands of the universe and let whatever will be, to be.

My heart's best intentions and thoughts to you,
Love always,

I didn't think it would be possible to hate someone so much

I wonder if you can hear yourself being a bitch....

Day 3; A book you love.

This book has everything:
time-travel, goddesses, ancient history, romance, comedy, action, drama, magic, Celtic tradition, myths, martial arts and sooooo much more. <3
What do you like and what are you good at?
Are they the same things or are they totally different?

Because just because you like a subject doesn't mean you're good at it and just because you're good at something doesn't necessarily mean you like it. For example I was recommended to do extension maths (lol typical asian) but that didn't stop me from dropping it for my senior years. Another example is the fact that like ancient history but I crappy ass marks for it in my exam.

Just because you can sing doesn't mean you should
Just because you can dance doesn't mean you should
Just because you can cook doesn't mean you should

I asked my friend why did she do something she hated and she said the satisfaction of getting good marks and the future prospects and advantages from doing the subject are brighter. Then my other friend refuted that you'd be unhappy at present time and what was the point of getting good marks in a subject you hate if it only leads to doing future occupations in the field of the subject you hate.

Day 2; Something you feel strongly about

Being considerate and proper reasoning. Be considerate of the people around you. Think of others. Give seats to the public if you're a student sitting in the front half of the bus. Don't stop right in the middle of a path way if there's a moving crowd behind/around you. Give proper reasons behind decisions. Don't say yes or no just because you feel like it or cause you just can without justification. That's abusing power and trust. It's common sense people. It's being part of a functioning society and respecting each other in it.

RE: What is true love?

 simplicated. said...

so basically, doing things with your whole heart and intentions for them?

love is confusing.
11 May 2011 1:58 AM

 Pretense. said...

I would fight for them even if they were wrong.
Let them go to make them happy? What make's someone 'happy' changes everyday.
I wouldnt change myself, because somewhere along the lines I'd forgot who I really am.
If you love the person, you'd accept them for everything. Their smile. Their laugh. Their flaws. Everything.

But I think the real question is; "what is love"
It isnt just sacrifices, happiness and change. It's everything.
If you can't define it, say it. "love"
Who suddenly popped into your head?
If you seriously don't see how you could have lived without that person, I wouldnt waste my time letting them go no matter how selfish I seem.

Ok first of all, since when did you read my blog?
Second of all, you girls are so lovely. We so DnM.

Oh my gosh...

"it makes me wonder why life sometimes plants really special people into your life at all the wrong moments though, and make you go through the misery of watching these people leave you because he/she came in at the wrong time, and there's nothing you can do to make them stay with you even though it's all you're wishing for."

"I know you've been burnt But every fire is a lesson learnt"

You're so quiet

But it doesn't phase me
You're on time
You move so fast
Makes me feel lazy

And let's join forces
We've got our guns and horses
I know you've been burnt
But every fire is a lesson learnt

I left my house
Left my clothes
Door wide open
Heaven knows
You're so worth it, you are

But I wish I could feel it all for you
I wish I could be it all for you
If I could erase the pain
And maybe you'd feel the same
I'd do it all for you
I would, I would, I would, I would

Lets tie words
'Cause they amount to nothing
Play it down
Pretend you can't take what you've found
But you found me
On a screen you sit at permanently

I left my house
Left my clothes
Door wide open
Heaven knows
You're so worth it, you are

But I wish I could feel it all for you
I wish I could be it all for you
If I could erase the pain
And maybe you'd feel the same
I'd do it all for you
I would, I would, I would, I would

It's time to come clean and make sense of everything
It's time that we found out who we are
'Cause when I'm standing here in the dark
I see your face in every star

But I wish I could feel it all for you
I wish I could be it all for you
If I could erase the pain
And maybe you'd feel the same
I'd do it all for you
I would, I would, I would, I would

I'd do it all for you
I'd do it all for you
I'd do it all for you
I'd do it all for you
I'd do it all for you

What is true love?

Is it loving someone so much that you'd do anything to be with them? You would fight for them?
Or is it loving someone so much that you'd let them go to be happy?

Is it loving someone so much that one person would want to change them self to keep the other?
Or is it the other person loving someone so much that they'd accept them for who they are, no matter what?

Legends, been following them since about year 6.

But I found them before that, their music videos and Yellow Fever were massive even before youtube. They're truly amazing people who are following and doing what they love to do most. This has the best montage ever.

"Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."

Rosie Hardy - Flick

I was supposed to post thing yesterday. So the background story before you read the whole thing is a girl on flickr met and fell in love with another guy on flickr. They've been chatting, dedicating photos to each other and taking photos "with each other" (digitally editing them to make it look like they're together physically in a photo). The girl lives in England, the guy lives in America. They planned on him to fly over to England one day. This is what happened:

"Soooooooo I went to meet Aaron at the airport this morning at 10am - I was so jittery with excitement I couldn't stop jitterbugging about, and finally after the entireity of his flight had emptied and he had STILL not arrived, I started to get worried. It was only then that an old lady approached me and asked if I was Rosie Hardy. "Shit here we go, I've been duped" was my first thought. Then she explained she had sat next to him on the flight, that he was an amazing person and that we would have an incredible time. Aaron didn't even give her a description of me - she said she just could tell it was me he'd be meeting!!! She also said that due to his copious amounts of luggage and bizzare tales of why he was coming England, customs had captured him and were strip searching him as we spoke. By this time, Aaron had snuck up behind me and scared the living daylights out of me, but he picked me up and spun me round and everything was perfect. He is now feeding me blue jelly beans."

They're not together anymore now but this story will always be ones of those ones. The one that everyone dreams or hears about from and friend of a friend of a friends. Sort of like an urban myth. That's how rare that sort of story is today.
