Road We Travelled

Yesterday was one of the best days of my life.

It was as if as soon as I was fully away from the house, I was allowed to be happy. I really needed for this to happen, to be able to spend time with both the girls and the boys and to be calm and relaxed.

Time spent driving was fun enough. The silences weren't uncomfortable, the talks weren't awkward and the music didn't matter. The stop offs were so much fun. Photos, videos, food. The times that I hung back and watched the other crowd, I felt like I was watching one of those perfect moments in a film or TV show. It was sort of that cheesy, slow-mo, happy instrumental scene that made everyone feel good.

Despite the rain, I think the beach and the fish and chips were my favourite bit. I was told for the rain to stop before I got out. I nearly ran out. First one out, too. I was surprised when I would sink in the sand but it added to the whole atmosphere. Dreary and rainy and grey but it just made it that much better. My hood was barely big enough to shield half my head so I let it drop eventually. The closer we got to the ocean, the more solid the sand got under out feet. The rocky area was amazing. We went right near the edge and almost got hit by the waves that crashed on it. By then my hair was near drenched and my boots were covered in sand.

Sitting around the table, eating fish and chips made in three different ways and singing I'm Yours by Jason Mraz was another cheesy movie moment. Kind of reminded me of that very very end scene of Avengers where they eat swarma after the battle. We battled with winding roads, downpour, idiotic parked cars and broken nails.

I literally didn't want it to end.

Best, most interesting memories:

  • Ho's thongs
  • Migi's determined mission to stock up on instagram
  • Yong's new camera
  • Laura's cautious driving
  • Gary's psychotic driving
  • The twelve zodiac
  • The crab between rocks
  • Group photos
  • Matt leading
  • Paper wrapped chips
  • Matt's Rock Playlist (Red, Kutless, Paramore, Linkin Park)v
  • Taking photos of crashing waves on the edge of the straight cut rocks
  • I'm Yours - Jason Mraz
  • Yong believing we could touch the clouds, and me believing him

HSC and Website news!

English: Pretty sure I failed the only two units that counted
Music: Actually pretty happy with how I went.
Modern: Lucked out immensely. I selected pretty much half the dots points on each syllabus, skipping a lot of major ones because the cramming was getting a bit intense. LO AND BEHOLD the questions given were based on exactly the dot points I used. HELL TO THE YEAH.

TO BE COMPLETED
SOR: Fuuuuuuuuuuuhhh. Not looking forward to this at all. Stupid. Just....stupid
Society and culture: As much as I love the subject and what it has given me, the content and individual analysing is insaneeeeeeeeee.
Art: lol yeah.

Anyways I am literally in the middle of creating my new review blog! It's going to be a mix of television, film and novels, not separate like Mark's. HE FINISHED WATCHING THE BUFFY SERIES AND THE WHOLE PROCESS WAS BEAUTIFUL. I know that I get a little REALLY emotional when it comes to fiction so I'll probably be more sob-by and less witty. IT STARTS ON THE 9th OF NOVEMBER.

Friday 19 October 2012

Things that made Mumford and Sons concert perfect:

  • Even though I was alone for the first hour, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros made me feel insanely happy
  • Alex Ebert constantly moving. Jumping, stomping, dancing, running, walking across the stage and with the front row of the mosh pit
  • Alex Ebert and Jade.
  • Alex Ebert chasing Jade with a tambourine and shaking it over her head like a weird halo
  • Their opening song was the song that made me love them: MAN ON FIRE
  • Mila coming just in time for Home
  • The hipster indie boy drinking game. When you see a guy who is dressed indie and/or hipster, take a drink. This includes: beanies, plaid, weird print/pattern shirts, backwards caps, beards, long hair tied, skinny jeans etc.
  • Mumford and Sons sounding and being perfect
  • The megascreen shooting hipster indie angles of the band e.g. with light shining around them, obscure shots of their tapping feet and the whole thing being in BLACK AND WHITE.
  • The lighting was perfect.
  • The couple sitting in front of us swaying in the cutest way in their seats
  • The communal effort by the whole stadium when it came to Little Lion Man and The Cave
  • The couple slow dancing at the front of the aisle
  • Buying matching Mumford and Sons shirts with Milly
Basically. Perfection.

"Little Lion Man" (Mumford & Sons) - James Alan

In light of the fact that I'm in love with his voice, covers and that I'M GOING TO MUMFORD AND SONS ON THURSDAY!....here's a video =]

p.s. HSC started

Friday 12 October 2012

I think the biggest motivation for me to get through this crap is so I can get away from here.

Thursday 4 October 2012

"Home" - Philip Phillips (ft. James Alan)

*IMPORTANT NOTE: Everything in this video is LIVE and in ONE TAKE. The audio and the video were recorded together. We shot four of these in one night, so be ready for more to come! Special thanks to Speakeasy Sound for letting us shoot and record in their amazing studio.

HOLY CRAP, MARRY ME, SIR.

Tuesday 2 October 2012

Could really go for a Sherlock rewatch right now. But I know that if I watch it now, my Sherlock feels will be renewed and dominate my mind over the HSC. Wahhh I miss Benedict and Martin. Tumblr gifs and photos just aren't cutting it for me anymore.

I'm also falling in love with classics. Audrey Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart, Fred Astaire and Ginger Roberts, Alfred Hitchcock. I think I'd like to be an upper class young white female in the 50s just so I could meet them somehow. The films back then were just amazing, classy, sophisticated and just so entertaining. Quality acting and no need for cheap shots (ignoring the "Asian" in Breakfast at Tiffany's and Fred Astaire's blackface).
I am now a download junkie. Downloaded Vuze. And then proceeded to download nearly everything else. I regret nothing.

Sunday 30 September 2012

My HSC Schedule

Monday 15th of October: Advanced English Paper 1
1.50-4.00 p.m. (2 hours and 10 minutes)
It all starts today. How fitting hell should begin with my most hated subject. Here lies the horrors of short text, belonging and creative writing.

Wednesday 17th  of October: Advanced English Paper 2
9:25 - 11.30 a.m. (2 hours and 5 minutes)
Of course this would drag on and be my only subject that requires to exams. Of course. They say that hitting yourself with a hammer should be done for a long amount of time so that it feels better when it stops. Hopefully it applies here. The hammer in this case is called the Fiftieth Gate, Blade Runner, Frankenstein and Gwen Harwood.

Thursday 18th of October: A possibility
Maybe it will feel better because I have been offered a (lowered price) ticket to go the the Mumford and Sons concert ticket whose supporting act comprises of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes and Matt Corby. Pretty much a near perfect concert. To rock or not to rock to folky, alternative, indie music?

Satuday 20th of October: A wedding
Dress up time at a party to celebrate the union of two people I don't really know while smiling and speaking broken Cantonese to family member who I've never met or don't remember. Note: Only occasion to keep siblings close.

Thursday 25th of October: Music
1:55 - 3.00 p.m. (1 hours and 5 minutes...thank God)
Aural skills. Listing what is obvious does not come naturally to me as it seems. I suck at this.

Monday 29th of October: Modern History
9.25 - 12.30 p.m. (3 hours and 5 minutes.....JFC)
The one subject I would worry most about. WWI, Germany from 1923-1937, Conflict in the Pacific and Japan. While I enjoy learning about such things I do not think I'm prepared to write approximately 5000 words in three hours.

Monday 5th of November: Studies of Religion 1
9.25 - 11.00 a.m. (1 hour and 35 minutes)
My second most hated subject. A pointless, waste of a unit. I wish I dropped to Catholic Studies. I can't deny I need this unit though. Do not underestimate SOR. People who say this is easy marks is an idiot. Christianity (Baptism, St Paul, environmental ethics) and Islam (Hajj, Rabia, environmental ethics).

Tuesday 6th of November: Society and Culture
1.55 - 4.00 p.m. (2 hours and 5 minutes.....surprising)
It was fun and interesting and valuable for after high school. Kept me on my toes and out of bed while staying up and doing my PIP. It's nearing the end and I'm glad this was one of the last subjects for me to say goodbye to. Whoever thinks it's a bludge.....buddy you're in for a ride. Surfing, China and their education, work and leisure, futurism (not to mention Core knowledge which includes definitions and research methods)

Thursday 8th of November: Visual Arts
And I conclude on this note. Hopefully I'll be at the top on my A-gam to bullshit through 4 booklets worth about the use of colour, brushstrokes, gallery space and post modernism. Leaving on a high note.

Possible, flexible plans for after high school

These are more wanted and desired plans but what the hey:
  • UTS: Bachelor of Arts (media and communication)
  • COFA: Bachelor of Fine Arts
  • Get two part time or casual jobs
  • Start a television, film and novel review blog like markdoesstuff
  • Learn how to cook (pinterest, justtaste)
  • Exercise (dance, home but not the gym. I'm not a work out in public kind of person. Except maybe a few yoga or zumba or pole dancing lessons.)
  • Road trip or holiday (that doesn't count Bali where Ray and Filia are getting married!!!!!)
  • Concerts
  • Continue art, no matter what
  • Get a tumblr.
  • Get Final Cut Pro and do all previous challenges by So You Think You Can Vid as practice.

List of things I want to be when I grow up.
  • Journalist
  • Film/television/novel/food critic
  • Writer (of any sort)
  • Teacher who specialises with gifted children
  • Editor of a magazine
  • Psychologist
  • Chef
  • Married with kids and a pet
  • Accomplished
  • Happy

All this needs a crap load of money though. OH WELLS.
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros marathon while studying recipes to cook after HSC exams I have not studied for. I'm quite married to my music, books, food, television and film. Does any kind of occupation encompass all of that? I think I'd be in heaven if there was. I think it exists between the place where you can eat all sorts of things and still look amazing and the place where the buses and trains ran on time. If I'm going to procrastinate, I guess it's better if I do it here, on my too-neglected-but-loved blog. Help my english skills out or something.

I'm going to do some random posts. About what high school taught me. Instead of one massive post.

Wednesday 5 September 2012

"Everytime I join a new fandom I feel like I'm ripping my soul into another horcrux"

Sunday 19 August 2012

"I haven't really decided to be an actor yet. I started doing plays when I was about 15 or 16. I only did it because my dad saw a bunch of pretty girls in a restaurant and he asked them were they came from and they said drama group. He said: Son, tha tis where you need to go."

--Robert Pattinson

Say what you want and think what you want about the man but I admire him as a person. In fact, this was going to be an appreciation post on him because so many people judge him solely on his personal life and Twilight. Now it's going to defend the cast of Twilight.

Let me say first of all that I hate the films. They were poorly made and directed. The novels, after much consideration and reading Mark's commentary, it's a horrible message for young teenage girls. At first I fell into that thought that what Edward and Bella were doing was the most romantic and healthy relationship. It's the opposite.

Movie's wise. The films are a joke. Lets face it. Horrible dialogue, costume design and direction. Cinematography sometimes good. The thing is, when Twilight first started, it was excitin. It was the biggest literary turn novel phenomenon since Harry Potter. And look how Harry Potter turned out. But then the movie came out. Everyone turned from hot to cold so fast on the franchise, I wouldn't have known that people loved it if not for the Twihards.

I think the blame lies with the director and the story. I don't blame the actors. It was going to be the next big thing, a massive project. And if I was an actor at that time, I would have wanted to be part of it really badly. When you're done with a massive project that had a lot of hard work in it, you're proud of it. Even if it sort of sucks. And since it's a franchise I admire the actors for sticking with it, even with all the criticisms about it and how they seem to be the butt of all the jokes on the internet.

If you look at the actor's filmography/repertoires, most show great acting ability in other films. Robert Pattinson in Water for Elephants, Remember Me and Cosmopolis was praised in his performance even if the films themselves weren't highly acclaimed. Kristen Stewart's one dimensional role as a needy completely non depth character doesn't really give her much to work with. I haven't seen her other films but when I am going to, I'm sure she'll display a plethora of emotions. Maybe not a plethora...

You have to admit, their willingness to stick with the weirdest love hated franchise despite having the options to leave, it's pretty admirable.

All I have to say is, crap franchise but good people who got stuck with it, pigeon holed with it and are doing their goddamn best.

I don't feel like posting this anymore but I spent some time on it so what they hey. Not like anyone reads this.

Thursday 16 August 2012

Can I just please drop out of school? Or at least have English and SOR as optional subjects? Or have creative writing as a separate course? Or just eliminate the state of mind thinking that our worth should be measured in numbers. That we have to do this ridiculous things called the HSC to do some sort of audition, fire hoop jumping to get into university?

HSC should die in a fire. Or at least Studies of Religion and English Advanced.

Tuesday 26 June 2012

I wonder if people realise they were noticed today. If people knew how many times a day they were noticed, would they feel less lonely? Whether it be a few people on a passing bus, a daydreamer looking outside a cafe window, a bored child watching the world outside their house. We all notice people, strangers, everyday. Something about them caught our eye. And for those couple of seconds, we wondered. What are they doing? Who are they? What kind of life do they have? It's all so fleeting. But the thoughts exist nonetheless. If people realised they were noticed today and they knew this, would the world be a better place?

Monday 25 June 2012

It's just one of those days

Just feels like the whole day was devoted to try and break me down. For me to collapse in tears from stress and pressure and being misunderstood. But I haven't. I've teared up and a few have escaped. But I'm not done. I'm not going to give certain people the satisfaction of making me smaller than what I am. I understand things. More than people realise.

I wonder if people understand their perception of me is not how the world sees me or how I see myself. I wonder if people understand this when it comes to themselves.

I don't even know what's stopping me from breaking anymore.

ANOTHER NEW BLOG?

Technically a blog-to-be. I don't want to seem like one of those people who creates a new blog every single year for no reason. If I make multiple blogs, they have different purposes and reasons. This one right now is of course my personal, random blog which I have sorrowfully neglected...sort of like a my 10 year PlayStation which I continuously played for a couple of months, tops, before it became an antique in my fish cupboard.

A couple of weeks ago, while actively procrastinating, I wrote down a list/table of televisions shows that I am:
  • Up to date with and on hiatus or completed
  • Series I have started but have not yet finished
  • Series I need to start to watch from the very beginning
Probably the most productive work I've ever done in english....Anyways, this list epic and has me excited. I'll post it up later. I also need to draw up a novel version of what I just did. I've just accumulated all these things that need to be experienced.

New blog is inspired by this gem of a man: http://markwatches.net/reviews/

He watches a whole television series systematically in a brilliantly laid out schedule and reviews each episode right after he watches it. Right now he's onto Buffy and I am so terrified and excited for him because I know what is to come and I can see he's just as emotionally invested in it as I am. I pray for you, man. He's got another site which is purely just for novels. So instead of reviewing episode at a time, he does it in chapters. Good God, this man is hilarious.

So I shall set this thing up after the 8th of November. Which is my last exam by the way. The last exam day for the whole of HSC. The last high school exam I would ever take in my life. Will show HSC exam schedule later. When I'm not weeping tears of despair.

I'm wondering if I should do the same thing he's done, which is two separate sites for novels and televisions shows (also thinking of a movie one....)

Friday 1 June 2012

Update

So I haven't really blogged in a while. I wish I could say it was because I've been busy....well I sort of have been, but it's mainly cause I'm lazy or don't have much to say.

The major events that have happened that I remember:

  • Hunger Games Movie
  • Battleship Movie
  • Avengers Movie
  • Laura's 18th and her party
  • Exams, assignments and school
  • NKOTBSB concert
  • Careers Expo
  • We can get a dog if we get rid of the rabbits
I can tell you there's probably not much more. My life isn't that exciting. The movie's were amazing. Especially Avengers. Laura's birthday was great. NKOTBSB was incredible. Careers Expo was...interesting. I just don't know anymore.

Weep

So one of my all time favourite songs is We Don't Eat by James Vincent McMorrow. Found it in Year 11 or 10 and just loved the song ever since. I decided to download all of McMorrow's songs on the weekend because he has the kind of voice I want to marry and be with forever.

Today after my exam, I had a singing lesson but I had to wait 1 and half hours. So me and my friends went to the cafe near my school for some lunch. This cafe has those kinds of stands that have random postcards and notices. When we were about to leave, I saw this postcard:

So of course I took one. Got home and realised. HE IS COMING TO SYDNEY. But then I'm like "Oh it's probably going to be a school night or really expensive" So I checked the date. IT'S ON THE FIRST MONDAY IN THE HOLIDAYS. Checked the website. 44$ FOR A TICKET WITH HIS NEW ALBUM INCLUDED. I was excited. I was happy. I was going out of my mind. It was originally sold out but due to high demand, they moved to a bigger venue and more tickets were available. This was fate. I was meant to go and listen to this man live.

And then:

I noticed this one detail:

I'M GOING TO BE 18 THIS YEAR. I SHOULD BE ABLE TO GO. THIS IS BULL. NO.

So long story short. My heart is broken

Music

So for my comp, I went over to Steph's with Matt. She has a mini recording studio in her garage. As soon as me and Matt walked in, we were like....

No words. lol. It was tiny but it was perfect. It had instruments, computer, mixing board, one of the coolest couches ever. And the sound proof recording booth. That is like, my dream thing to have. I mentioned I needed a drum beat and she said she could try get her drum pad. Me and Matt just lost our shit at that moment.

So my composition. Needs a lot of work. But since the planning out is going good and my boyfriend just happens to be the best thing that has ever happened to me, his improv is making my song sound legit. 'Cause he's magical. So he's basically writing it for me but I'm giving him the direction so technically I'm still the composer? Producer? Director? I don't know..

The Girl On Fire

Was meant to blog about this earlier. Watched the Hunger Games. It stayed true to the book, had a good amount of action and the death scenes weren't so gruesome that you couldn't watch it but it was intense enough to get shocked. Katniss by Jennifer Lawrence was amazing. PEETA by Josh Hutchinson was perfect. Milly is now Team Peeta and I kept rubbing in I've been with him since I read the first book. It was great. The Rue scene. Good freaking God, that Rue scene. I actually leaked a few tears but played it off long enough so that no one noticed. I can't wait for the next installment. I swear. Seriously. Finnick. I mean....FINNICK.

Overall, very happy. I am also now convinced I need all Hunger Games related merchandise.

Exam Schedule:

Today: SOR1, I winged half of my Paul essay and bullshit my way through the short answer. Majorly.

Tomorrow: English written - short answer and creative writing. Should be ok right?

Friday: Modern History - Source analysis on WWI and 2 essays on Germany. FML. I love modern but it kills me. We have a very unhealthy and damaging relationship with one another.....

Monday: Visual Arts - Yeah meh.

Tuesday: English Oral/Tutorial - Your own question on belonging that refers to Shakespeare's As You Like It and my related text Pleasantville (WHICH BY THE WAY, IS DIRECTED THE SAME GUY WHO DIRECTED HUNGER GAMES. RESPECT LEVEL IS THROUGH THE ROOF)

Wednesday: Music Aural and Composition hand in - more in new post.

Catch up

So today was the beginning of half yearly exam week. There was a lot of anger going on when the school failed to give us two weeks notice and, with other interfering school factors, squashed all the exams within a 6 day period. Some people got majorly screwed over, two of my friends have to do 6 exams in 3 days (2 on each day). I got lucky and ended up with one per day (thank God there's no Society and Culture exam)

Actually speaking of Society and Culture, I've officially gotten a topic: Brooding men and their rising appeal. I got a new blog for it called The PiProject:

If you people are still reading this thing, please check on it regularly cause I'll probably have questions or need some comments. This is my HSC, so much appreciated.

The thing about my PIP is that when I finally got into it, my teacher confessed to looking up the original topic I was set on doing from the beginning but dropped. Creativity and it's place in society. I could rant on that for days. So I'll have a meet up with teach next week.

Wednesday 21 March 2012

Just casually facebook stalking a cousin I haven't seen in years and seeing he likes Safe&Sound by Taylor Swift ft. The Civil Wars. Actually got very excited and happy.

Speaking of....HUNGER GAMES TOMORROW. CAN'T CONTAIN EXCITEMENT.

Also, unrelated note: Thinking of starting random blog for my PIP just to keep track and have it up somewhere. Probs will be a public one since no one will find it.

Less than a week baby!

Twenty-two. Left or right handed?

Right handed. Although one day I'd like to be left handed or ambidextrous for at least one thing. Like a left handed instrument or something....

Clancy

The prize. Not the scary teacher.

So my Year 11 artwork was submitted into the Clancy Prize. It's a religious art competition for the catholic high schools of NSW. I got into the gallery and it was literally one of the first things you'd see in the corridor when you enter. But then further in you just see these amazing, crazy pieces of art. And I'm just baffled my art got considered to be hung.

The prize giving out started and so since I pretty much knew there was no way I was getting anything compared to these people, I stood at the back with my dad. My art teacher, who came late says I should stand and get up closer. I asked why and she said I was highly commended. Apparently they tell the schools of the winners what they got so that they'd attend.

The first thing I thought and said. Are you sure? Are you serious? How do you know? But then again, my pal Courtney also got accepted and her's is....I would buy it. That's how much I love it. Three A1 or larger pieces of paper with pencil detailed drawings of her mum and both her grandmas. So beautiful. So I figured, probably meant the other Courtney because w(hy)tf would they choose mine over anyone elses in this place?

So we move in and I got highly commendable which meant it got special attention and was considered for the main prizes but didn't quite make it. So overall I was stunned. When they said my name I was froze and was like....seriously? Heart beat ACTUALLY picked up. Very happy even though I didn't officially get anything.

Note to self: Visit art school open days or else not even try to get in.

As a reward, me and dad got Maccas. Good night overall.

Twenty-one. Are you a procrastinator or do you get things done early?

My god, what do you think I'm doing right now?

Procrastinating my ass off even though I should have done about two essays, one creative writing piece and at least 5 pages of notes. But....yeah. Nah.

I can't get over this quote:

"If my fist meets your face intimately and there's no one around to see it, do you still have a concussion?"

The Velveteen Rabbit

"Real isn't how you are made," said the Skin Horse. "It's a thing that happens to you. It doesn't happen all at once. You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand."

Twenty. Have you ever had a near-death experience?

I've had way too many hit by a car experiences. 90% my fault. Um apart from that, I haven't had anything too serious. I've fallen down stairs which resulted in a sprained ankle. And I've also knocked my head against concrete pretty hard after falling off a trampoline but that only gave me a massive ugle scab on my forehead.

PhonePics from today

Not going to lie though, it was a shit day. Family problems. Image 3 was from the park around 7 or 8ish when I just walked out of the house without anyone knowing.

2012 isn't about a new chapter, but rather writing a new book.

Sunday 22 January 2012

Eighteen. What was the first concert/show you attended?

I've only been to two concerts. My first one was in 2008 I think. It was a Backstreet Boys concert. I went with my sisters, family friend and my sisters best friend. He was a bigger fan than all of us, which is a great achievement because the Backstreet Boys was one of the biggest parts of my childhood.

It was awesome. I'm going to another Backstreet Boys concert concert this year combined with The New Kids on the Block. Should be freaking epic.

I literally need everything from here:

Seventeen. What is your favorite flower?

At the moment?
Forget-me-nots. They're adorable and pretty.

The stereotypical ones that I like are roses (red) and lillies (Madonna and pond ones)

Bought a new camera yesterday!

Along with the old school one I used for my portfolio shots, my red Holga 135 and black Holga 135BC (all film cameras), I got a very very Pink Slim Angle Wide-Angle Camera online. Can't for it to come in 1-4weeks!

http://abeautifulmess.typepad.com/my_weblog/2011/10/how-to-style-a-hair-bow.html

2nd attempt turned out better. I need a bigger hairband for a full hair bow because my hair is too thick ==. On that note. My hair is long. Like... reaches the top of my butt long. I need a haircut.

Sixteen. What is your favorite color?

Navy blue, cobalt blue and that indescribable perfect shade of grey

A little something of beauty to brighten up a girls day

I have fallen in love with this website and all it's indie-ness, whether they're aiming to be indie or not. Just a lot of cute things to make your home, day and life a little more beautiful. I've already attempted 3 of the hair tutorials and got a semi-decent hair bow.

For more awesomeness, go to the about page (button located at top, took me a while to find it. I don't know if that's because I'm a retard or just a general thing...) and all the people who contribute to the blog have their own blogs. Click them out!

I found this blog through the amazing Dianna Argon who plays Quinn on Glee. She has an adorable website which makes me love her more and magnifies her perfection.

Saturday 14 January 2012

Fifteen. What are your career goals?

I don't have any specifics right now. A bout a billion people have asked and I just reply with a shrug or "No freaking idea".

I just want to do something I'm passionate about. Or something I at least enjoy doing. That's why I chose the subjects I chose, because I like them. I don't want to do something I don't want to do when I have a choice. This is also why I hate the scaling system. It discourages people who want to do what they love but are scaled down for it. Which leads to not receiving as many opportunities as someone who did sciences and math etc. Not that I have anything against those people.

Um so ideal job would be fun, creative and helps a lot of people. Which isn't really helpful. Ideas?

I need to be part of something like this one day.

Monday 9 January 2012

We're constantly planning and preparing for the future. Go to school to get a good job. Get a good job to have enough money for when you're old. When you're old, you don't have enough time to spend it on all the things you could have when you were younger. And then we die.

Saturday 7 January 2012

Fourteen. Do you believe in fate/destiny?

To certain extents.

The idealist in me wants to believe in destiny and fate. I can understand why people don't like the idea that everything was pre-determined or something. I get that. But I don't mind it. For me, it kind of makes sense.

I kind of believe that we all have a certain purpose in life, maybe more than one. For someone it might be to achieve major change, for others it might just be to help that person make the change. Or something like that. The road or the way we get to that goal can be up to us; e.g. easy way, hard way, long time, short time etc.

This all ties in with my other belief that everything happens for a greater reason.

Another weird random theory/idea I have has to do with time travel. I don't know why. BUT, there is a future, and the future us did the exact stuff present us to get to that point. But then I guess it's kind of contradictory how I like the idea of infinite alternate realities exist where every moment, choice, second made can have endless possible outcomes and there are other dimensions or something where the different possibilities and results occurred. I don't know if I'm making sense....

Fate, yes I believe in fate. Destiny is kind of flexible and weird in my book....

By the way

Happy New Year. 2012. May we survive, learn and live.

Thirteen. What are you listening to right now?

Hometown Glory - Adele

Play count: 87

Adele is too amazing for words. I think I discovered her music from Greys Anatomy or something in 2008. I only had a couple of her songs by then but I was mainly obsessed with this, Chasing Pavements and Daydreamer.

I got her live concert DVD and her new album 21 from Michelle and Jason for Christmas this year. On Christmas day Adele and Michael Buble were blasting from our speakers while the whole family got into cooking and cleaning. It was pretty awesome. I also got shoes, money and Breakfast At Tiffany's from Sammy and Damo.

Hometown Glory is probably my most favourite Adele song out of her two albums. She's amazing live, swears like a sailor and is just so down to earth. I would marry her. Just saying.

For some reason, cancer is mentioned a lot in the following post. Not in an offensive way. At least, I don't think so...

I'm sorry, this might come across as bitchy, close minded and insulting but seriously, I'm really sick of status' or messages that have following two main parts to it:

  1. The story/quote
  2. The reblog
On facebook, youtube, whatever allows people to type whatever the hell they want, you might encounter the following tales:
  • A little girls perspective on how she died in a car accident when she was hit by a drunk driver yet she was being a good girl and sober.
  • A foetus' perspective about how it was aborted
  • A random persons perspective of their mother
  • A tale about someone/something being wronged, tortured, killed etc.
  • Preaching religion
  • And more
Then after the little tale or something, there'd be a message about reblogging or commenting the same message again if you're against cancer, drink driving, abortion, how much they love their mum, if they have a heart, if you're in this religion and you're not ashamed/proud of it.

With all due respect, to the second last dot point, go for it, got nothing against it and nothing against your point of view. It's just the last part that gets me. "If you're truly against this" or "If you support this/are proud of this, you'll reblog, repost this"

What the hell? Really? To prove that I love my mum, I have to copy and paste a cliche, badly written message all over the internet? My mum doesn't even know how to use the computer, what will she care if I do this or not? How about this: get off the internet and help her out or give her a freaking hug instead of declaring to strangers that you love your mum, because it does nothing.

That is a hella stupid and pointless way to declare something. No one cares. And the people who do copy and paste it or like the status on facebook (etc.) probably are doing it only to not feel bad about not copying and pasting it or to not look like a douchebag who supports cancer.

I don't know if this justifies why these things piss me off. I just see them everywhere and just go: "Really?.....Really?....No."

It's a badly dressed up version of chain mail spam. If you don't send this to people the Ring girl will kill you in your sleep while puppies and kittens die unjustly because you didn't. Or: if you send this to at least a certain amount of people, money will freaking rain from the sky, global warming will end, world hunger and inequality will not exist and cancer will be cured.

And by the way of course I'm against cancer, etc. Who the hell supports cancer?
